Online Jobs, The Way To Improve Job Satisfaction
In days past, companies used to conduct their business in physical buildings, whereby the employees had to travel physically to work for the company. However, with the globalization and the availability of advanced communication technologies such as teleconferencing, video conferencing and internet, the meaning of jobs associated with a physical location has changed. Online jobs have become the vogue, where employees need not travel to a specific location to work for their company.
The increase in the usage of the Internet as a communication medium created a lot of new business opportunities around the world and increased the availability of e-commerce technologies. The best example for this is Internet business, where people can conduct various kinds of business online using the Internet. Availability of creative e-commerce business solutions have made the business transactions such as selling, buying and cash transfers, easier to do using the Internet.
These days, many business transations are done through the internet. This has opened the doors to online jobs. Employees no longer need to travel to a specific location to do their work. All is needed is a computer with necessary software and an internet connection. This can create a virtual office for the employee. Mobile computers such as palm tops and laptops made life easier for employees because they can do their business even when they are on the move.
Online jobs are very advantageous to employees as well as employers. They offer a win-win situation for both parties. For employers, they reduce the capital expenditure and man-power costs. For employees, they provide the job flexibility needed, saves the travel time and costs. Employees can decide when and where they would like to work. Even house wives, pregnant women and physically disabled people can do these jobs. Overall, they increase employee productivity and result in improved bottom line for the companies.
Online jobs provide a lot of challenges too. Employee accountability and performance management becomes an important issue because traditional ways of employee management will not work. They provide a less controlled work environment which may not be suitable for every kind of employee. These kinds of jobs may not be suitable where a team effort is needed. The human resource department needs to become creative in coming up with innovative ways of improving accountability and employee productivity.
In conclusion, it is appropriate to say that online jobs is the way to go forward. One cannot ignore the new business opportunities provided by Internet business and the advantages this kind of job offers. If an organization or business comes up with innovative ways of handling the challenges, I am sure such business organizations will thrive to beat the competition and become successful.
Globalization has allowed companies that traditionally worked with in physical buildings to work through online platforms which provide physical location flexibility to their employees. The increased presence of the internet has created numerous options for an internet business and online jobs are now in vogue. Online job opportunities are advantageous for both the employer and employee resulting in a win-win situation for both parties. However, these jobs provide human resource challenges related to the less controlled work environment. These challenges are outweighed by the new business opportunities and cost advantages that come with online business technologies and the future potential is unlimited.
